Engine seized or hydrolocked Oil starvation, coolant or water entry, bearing failure or piston/rod damage. Internal inspection is required. Replacement is often practical when the block, crankshaft or several major parts are damaged.

The cheapest option today is not always the lowest cost option over the remaining life of the vehicle. The right choice depends on the confirmed failure, vehicle value, engine availability, mileage, intended ownership period and written warranty.

Before Fitting

  • Conduct an initial fault code scan and mechanical diagnosis to confirm the failure.
  • Match the engine by registration or VIN, engine code and suffix, production date, fuel and emissions version, gearbox, and drivetrain.
  • Inspect connected systems that may have caused or been damaged by the failure.
  • Provide an itemised quote detailing the engine type, assembly level, labour, ancillaries, fluids, coding, VAT status, recovery or delivery, exchange terms, and warranty.

Removal and Installation

  • Carry out vehicle recovery where requested, followed by the removal of the failed engine.
